4Nights/ 5 Days  High Atlas MTB

Day 1 : Marrakech – Amizmiz Dam - Takerkoust – Ouirgane.
Transfer from Marrakech to Takerkoust Reservoir and start biking to Ourigane on mixed paved and unpaved roads through a lot of Berber villages. Spend the night in a guest house.

Day 2 : Ouirgane – Azaden Valley – Tizian Village.
Mountain bike from Ouirgane up through the beautiful Azzadine valley on singetrack to a dirt road we will take to the village of Tizien. One section of this climb is a little difficult. Then we will take a dirt road up over the Tiziousem village where we will spend the night in a guest house.

Day 3 : Tizian – Tizi Mzik pass 2489m - Imlil
We will set out towards Imlil village by way of mixed dirt road and paved road. We will spend the night in a guest house in the shadow of the highest mountain in North Africa, Jbel Toubkal.

Day 4 : Imlil – Tizi Ntamatert pass 23789m - Tachedirt – Tansghart
From Imlil we will cross into the steep Iminane Valley above green terraced fields on a paved road and then at the highest village in the valley, Tachedirt, we will descend by way of dirt road to the village of Tansghart where we will spend the night in a guest house.

Day 5 : Tansghart – Ourika Valley – Marrakech.
We then climb by paved road over to the gorgeous Ourika valley and descend the Ourika valley to Marrakesh.

Essential Equipments:

  • Good walking boots and socks
  • Shoes - change for evenings
  • Water, carried by camel
  • Water bottle or camel back (recommended)
  • Water purification e.g. iodine
  • Day sack/backpack
  • Sleeping bag (3-4 season); plus thermal liner in winter
  • Scarf to wrap around your head in a sandstorm
  • Personal items: towel, sunscreen, wet wipes, loo roll
  • Toiletries that are eco-friendly e.g. soap, shampoo etc.
  • Small First Aid Kit e.g. insect repellent, plasters, meds
  • Sunglasses.
  • Torch/Flashlight and spare batteries e.g. head torch
  • Fleece (summer)
  • Layers, windproof jacket (autumn-spring)
  • Hat for summer and warm beanie for winter plus gloves
  • Thermal underwear (autumn-spring)

    Meals: You will have the opportunity to enjoy typically Moroccan meals (tajine, couscous,.). Fresh products, canned food as a complement, meat bought in the mountains. Picnic or salads for lunch, hot ready-cooked meals for dinner. 
    We use a big tent to preparing the meals, and a mess tent to eat. The water flows out from the mountains is very pure but you should treat it otherwise to use bottle water instead of water from the sourse .

    Travel inside of morocco: For transfers between Marrakech and the starting or end point of the hike, we use minibuses or four-wheel drive vehicles or taxis depends on size of the group. During the days of the trek , mules or camels carry the luggage.
